Saturday, August 29th, 9:30am

Here we go again! After a first attempt that got thwarted by bad weather, join us Saturday, August 29th at 9:30am for a flight to Merritt Field (4PN7), home of the Eagle’s Mere Motorcycle, Air and Auto Museums.

Merritt Field is about 100 nautical miles north of New Garden, which will take us about an hour to fly there. The airfield is situated on top of a 2000′ mountain, with 3400′ grass and asphalt parallel runways, so pick your poison! The runway names are the same, 6/24, just like New Garden, just specify if you’re using the asphalt or grass. Typically 24 is favored, and is uphill. Only the asphalt runway is asphalt. Everything else is grass. Parking will be on the grass, along the embankment and there is a small staircase that will lead to the museums. CTAF is 122.9.

The museums are packed with about 30 aircraft, 75 cars and 120 motorcycles. There is a 75′ airmail tower. There’s a simulator. And more!

Use the Registration Page to sign up for the fly-out.
Meet at the chapter hangar at no later than 9:30am for briefing and seat assignments, with a planned departure time of 10am.
Pilots and planes are always needed. Pilots, when registering please let us know available seats and total passenger weight. Passengers, please provide an accurate weight and a good contact number. Passengers, if able, please chip in for fuel costs and/or buy lunch for the pilot.

As the date approaches, any event updates are provided by the Flight Leader and sent in emails and posted to our web site.
