Last Call for Airshow Volunteers!

 We’re a few days away from New Garden’s biggest event of the year: 2025 Festival of Flight Air, Car, & Tractor Show.

A big THANK YOU to the people that have already volunteered! We could use a couple more volunteers for Sunday – any help is appreciated!

For people that have volunteered, the free admission tickets can be picked up Friday afternoon, between 4pm and 6pm at the Chapter Hangar. If you can’t make it, access to the airport will be open until 8 am Saturday morning, you can stop by to pick them up then. Chapter volunteer parking will be in the gravel pit behind the hangar.

NOTE: The airport access road will be closed Saturday morning starting at 8am for the 5k runway race. The road will reopen at the completion of the race. For anyone volunteering for Saturday morning, please ensure that you arrive before 8am.

Here are the volunteer group breakdowns:

Fri 5 PM to 7 PM (clean hangar and set up for breakfast).
Sat 6 AM to 12 Noon ( serve and cook breakfast, clean up, about 10 AM set up Hot Dog stand, sell hot dogs)  
Sat 12 Noon to 6 PM ( sell hotdogs)
Sat 6 PM to 11 PM (sell hot dogs, clean up)
Sun 6 AM to 12 Noon (serve and cook breakfast, clean up, set up for hot dogs, sell hot dogs)
Sun12 Noon to 6 PM (sell hot dogs, clean up, move supplies back to the hangar)

One significant perk for our volunteers: they will receive a free airshow pass. That’s a $50 value right there.

Clouds Didn’t Stop Us!

Well it was a day fraught with white puffies and lower-than-desired ceilings, again, but that did not keep a couple of good instrument pilots down. Despite having a smaller-than-usual turnout, EAA240 took to the wild blue yonder with IFR flight plans in the works and made the gorgeous trek out to Sky Manor, a stunning general aviation field in the hills of Pittsboro, NJ. Cheap gas and nice views aside, what is the allure of N40 you might ask? Why, it is Sky Cafe, the $100 hamburger joint likened by pilots from Connecticut to DC. And boy did they deliver! Your EAA240 aircrew walked out nice and stuff stuffed and flight planning their next meal at the Sky Cafe. Until next time, Sky Manor! We’ll be dreaming of those omelettes and skillets for quite some time!
