EAA240 VMC/IMC Club Meeting

Thursday, August 14th, 6pm
EAA240 Chapter Hangar

Sharing ideas, concepts and experiences in better flying

Join us Thursday, August 14th for another IMC & VMC Club session, starting at 6pm. We’ll discus a few scenarios related to both VMC and IMC flying. All Chapter members – pilots and non-pilots – are invited to attend this session led by Robert Huxster. We’ll go through the scenarios and share flight experiences, with the goal being for all of us to learn something new. The session includes the use of EAA National-provided scenarios and videos.

Our topics for the evening will be ‘Smoky Departure’, smoke in the cabin and ‘Rocky Road’, un-commanded descent in turbulence.

Some additional homework for you, in the form of the following question:
You’re flying on a hot, summer day. The outside air temperature is 100 degrees, but fortunately the relative humidity is only about 30 percent. In these conditions, should carburetor icing be a concern?
