Membership Meeting – Monday, April 7th 2024

 

  

 		Join us Monday, April 7th, for our Monday chapter meeting! Gather at 6.30pm at the Chapter Hangar & Meeting Room for coffee and snacks. Monthly meeting will start at 7pm in the Chapter Meeting Room.

Guest Speakers and topics this month:

Eric Sieracki (FAASTeam Program Manager) will present a local pilot with the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award, followed by a couple quick VMC/IMC scenarios (if time permits).
Jon Martin, New Garden’s Airport Manager, will give us a presentation on his  trip to Sun ‘n Fun and how the airport construction projects are going. 

You can also renew your 2025 Chapter Membership at the meeting. Visitors & guests are welcome. We’ll be complete no later than 9pm.

Nice day to be flying!

A fun and very successful fly-out to Millville Airport was held on Saturday the 29th of March. Two pilots along with six passengers made the 30 minute journey across the Delaware River to the WWII airfield. Another aircraft joined us flying in from Claremont. Lacking more pilots, one passenger was sadly left behind.

The weather was forecast to be clear but windy with a windshear forecast at 2000 feet in all quadrants. Climbing out from N57 without a single bump led to a smooth ride at 3,500 feet with a 50 knot tailwind and a ground speed of 188 knots! It didn’t take long to reach our destination.

We were also joined by a few of our chapter members that decided to drive to the diner to join us for a great meal at Verna’s Flight Line Restaurant.

The Millville Army Airfield Museum is always worth a visit. They have added multiple aircraft and many new displays. It was very educational and entertaining.

Our next fly-out is scheduled for April 12th to Mifflin County Airport at Reedsville, for EAA 518’s breakfast.
