Chapter Members Update

What’s Happening?
Updates for members of EAA Chapter 240

  • SCAM ALERT! You may have received unsolicited emails or messages offering aviation-build tools for sale, RV kits, radio and electronics etc – many (all?) are scams and EAA National is reporting several folks have lost money. As always, if it looks too good….it likely is too good. Don’t be fooled. Caution!
  • As a reminder we have NO MEETING tomorrow evening, Monday Feb 6th. Instead, our Monthly Meeting is next Saturday, Feb 11th, 10am to noon at the Chapter hangar…..with a food event! The web site had details.
  • Following the Saturday Feb 11th Membership Meeting, there is an optional FAASTeam presentation staring at noon, details at the web site, topic: TFR’s
  • A Chapter member will be presented the FAA Wight Bros Award at noon Saturday, come along and congratulate our member!
  • We’re lining up very special Guest Speakers for our March & April Membership Meetings – details will be announced shortly.
  • If you haven’t seen them yet, come see the improvements our volunteer members have completed in the Hangar kitchen area, and in insulating the main hangar doors (work-in-progress). We’ve placed an order for a replacement window in the kitchen area.
  • The Chapter Board has agreed dates for our fund-raising Breakfasts and our Young Eagle Rallies for 2023, they’re listed on the Chapter Events Page of our web site. We’ll be looking to repeat the 2022 successes of both with the same – but extended – volunteer teams this year.
  • The January Executive Board Meeting Notes have been published in the ‘Members Only’ area of the web site. Our Chapter Financials Summary will be posted shortly (we’re in good shape!)
  • Membership renewals for 2023 have been coming in, with 114 members signing-up for the new year thus far. At year-end 2022 we had 182 members, so some way to go. Members can renew here.
  • The Chapter Events Team is organizing a visit for members to the ATC Tower at Lancaster Airport. We’ll announce details and sign-ups shortly. We’re also planning a trip to the Hagley Museum Machine Shop, for interested members. Details to follow.
  • Updates and additional activities will be posted at the Events Calendar at the Chapter web site. Meanwhile, if you have questions, recommendations or feedback: communications@eaa240.org

Thanks!
