TFR forces cancellation of Saturday’s (Sept 24th) Chapter Fly-Out to W29.
Our next Fly-Out is Saturday October 8th, to Blairstown NJ. The Chapter Events calendar has the updated schedule.
Pancakes & Kids – both flying!
A great morning of aviation and good foods!

Pancakes flew off the griddle while kids took to the air Saturday as the Chapter held a morning of aviation, good foods and even better company!
Thirty nine kids took to the skies, enjoying their first flight and including a Scouts troop who each gained an aviation merit badge thanks to EAA240! The ramp was busy throughout and with just three planes/pilots we didn’t complete until early afternoon.
We had a busy morning at the Chapter hangar and our breakfasts continue to attract many locals and fly-ins resulting in a steady flow of breakfasters eager for our great foods and hangar-breakfast experience. We served over 200 breakfasts – our best turnout in 2022 – and feedback was very positive as we continue to refine our food offerings (new potato product). Also, for this event, we’d purposefully and proactively invited the Chester Health Inspector to visit with us, view our food procedures and practices and to offer advice and counsel on all we do. We came away with a very positive report.
Our main purpose in all of this is to promote general aviation, the Chapter, and to raise funds to aid and maintain our operations. And this we did, with a solid income for breakfasts but also over $150 in generous donations from our supportive public.
None of this would be possible without the engagement and support of our amazing band of volunteers, who brought about the success of the day. Our thanks to:

| Long lines formed for our Hot Dogs as the New Garden Air & Car Show got underway at 4pm yesterday, Wednesday August 31st. And by 7pm we had sold every food item we had. The EAA240 Hot Dog Tent was a very popular spot, our ‘Airshow Special’ Hot Dogs were in great demand. The EAA240 team, led by Chuck Shipman, planned and executed the fund-raising sale, with food purchases, tent set-up, sales, and clean-up. Thanks go to Chuck, Bert, Ken Vance, Lynne and Jay for their volunteer efforts that raised over $1,500 for Chapter funds – which included over $400 in donations and tips from our generous and supporting public. Feedback was very positive, and much fun was had by all. Thanks also to the EAA240 members who stopped by, enjoyed a Hot Dog with us, and offered support & help. The Air Show Hot Dog banner was created and donated by Paul Dolan. Other Chapter members assisted with the Car Show and other volunteer activities at the show, team work! Congratulations also to Jon Martin for his leadership and execution of the first Air Show for many, many months. Well done Jon (EAA240 member!). The Greater Philadelphia Chapter of Tuskegee Airman, represented by Chapter member Vance, also took the opportunity to make a large and generous donation to the Chapter’s youth programs. Thank you! All-in-all, this was a great and fun day for aviation, for the airport, and for this amazing Chapter and it’s very special membership. Congratulations and thanks to all who contributed. ![]() Mike Parry, Proud President, EAA Chapter 240 |
