Aviation Photography – great aviation photography – is hard to do well! We’ve all tried it, results are very mixed, some are better than others.

The members of EAA240 have a unique opportunity to not only see some great aviation photography, but also to meet and discuss techniques, get tips and solutions from those photographers that do it professionally.

On Saturday March 28th we have invited Full Disc Aviation to present to the Chapter Membership on just how they achieve their amazing photographs. They cover all the major national and many international aviation events, including our own New Garden Air Shows. We’ll see their work, but also have a workshop/Q&A session where your questions can get answered.

We’ve scheduled a 90 minute session, Saturday March 28th, 10am at the Chapter Meeting Room. We’re expecting a strong turnout and that seating will be limited, so first-come-first-served! Members only please, for this special EAA240 event. Additional guests need to be pre-approved please – email us here.

EAA240 Chapter Membership Meeting – Monday, March 2nd, 2020

Our next Chapter Membership Meeting will be on Monday, March 2nd and will include the following agenda items:

~ Hangar Flying, coffee and comfort nibbles – from 6pm
~ Presentation commences – 7pm 
 ~ “Lessons Learned from a Rusty Pilot Instructor”, presented by Dale Robinson

Dale Robinson, an EAA240 member and CFI, regularly presents to aviation groups across the region. He discusses many topics, but he says ” My main point on key learnings is to be around community in flying, encouraging people to get connected with something at their airport (sport, club, RC, glider, programs, and family involvement).  I’ll share personal stories and ones I’ve heard along the way in my travels doing these seminars. For example, medical challenges don’t equal disqualification from flying and there are many options, and much more”.  

Topics Dale can address include plane inspections, cross-country flying, weather, airspace and regulations, airport operations & communications.   
Dale leads the Chapter Young Eagles program, with wife Liz.

With milder weather upon us, it’s always a good time for a fly-out to one of our favorite flying destinations for breakfast: Sky Manor Airport (N40) Saturday, February 8th 2020 (weather date Sunday).

Referred to as The Best Little Airport in the East, Sky Manor has been a favorite stopping point for pilots. The airport is just 2 miles away from Pittstown NJ and a half-dozen or so miles from the historic Delaware River with its quaint river towns.

One of the main reasons pilots and locals alike visit the airport is the Sky Cafe restaurant.
We are planning to arrive at the restaurant around 9:30am for breakfast, which means wheels up at N57 around 9:00am for the short 60 nm flight to Sky Manor.

We plan to meet at our Chapter hangar around 8:30 am for seat assignments and a short flight briefing.

Please let Flight Leader Andy know via email (events@EAA240.org) if you’ll be piloting a plane (open seats and max weight please) or coming along as a passenger (weight estimate please).

Also, let Andy know if you are available to fly Saturday, Sunday, or both days…pilot or passenger.

We’re hoping more member plane-owners can join us Saturday as we had to leave two behind on our previous fly-out due to a seat shortage.
