Due to road closures for the 5K run tomorrow, there will be no access to/from the EAA 240 hangar for a portion of tomorrow morning.
ALL volunteers are requested to please: arrive at the EAA240 hangar no later than 8:00 am. Please park behind the hangar, that is, please drive past the 240 hangar patio area and park in the open space between the hangar and the construction area.
Your assistance and volunteerism is greatly appreciated. See you tomorrow, it should be a great day for the Chapter and Airport.

Trip Report – Kentmorr Flyout
With some patience and a commitment to flying to Kentmorr (3W3), Saturday’s EAA240 flyout finally happened! 6 aircraft and pilots, along with 7 passengers, attended Saturday’s event. Crab Cakes on a platter or between a bun were the popular choice, and many chose an accompaniment of homemade Maryland Crab or Cream-of-Crab soup. Unfortunately, the hammocks on the Tiki Bar beach were all occupied by the time we finished lunch. That’s to say: Maybe next time, we stay a little longer…and wait for one!
It’s easy to see why Kentmorr was not to deny us! It’s a destination you could easily get used to!!!
Thank you to the pilots who gave their time and planes to the flyout because we can’t do it without them!

Chesapeake Sport Pilot is hosting Dean Vogel from Lockwood Aviation for three Rotax training and certification classes this summer at the CSP facility at Bay Bridge Airport W29.
August 26-27: Service
August 28-29: Maintenance
August 30: iS
The price for each 2-day class is $750. The price for the injected engine class – if we have sufficient interest – will be $315.
More details about the classes can be found at (http://training.lockwood.aero/). Keep in mind, though, the prices on that website are the prices for classes held at Lockwood headquarters in Sebring.

Along with our increasingly famous pancake breakfast and Young Eagles flights on Saturday, the Future Aviators Jamboree and Pavilion Dedication was an airport highlight! Jon Martin kicked off the afternoon with Everett Dupont accepting the pavilion dedication honors for his father and airport founder, Lex Dupont. The dedication was followed by a burger and hotdog feast, aircraft spot landing contest, hot air balloon glow, radio controlled candy drop and RC night show, bonfire and smores.
A Top Gun open air movie in the new pavilion capped the night before many overnight campers retired to their camp sites after an eventful day!
It was another great time and aviation highlight event for all the community, youth and families involved!
Our first Pancake Breakfast and Young Eagles event happened today, a great start to our 2019 season. A strong volunteer showing both Friday late-afternoon and then Saturday morning ensured our success in both ventures.
We served over 140 breakfasts and got many compliments on the new menu and tabletop items, all well received.
A beautiful morning enabled EAA240’s pilots and ground crew to offer Young Eagle flights to each of 33 kids today. All had a great time and each left the aircraft with a great experience and an appreciation for the potential of aviation, and flight.
Our thanks to the EAA240 YE team and to our visiting pilots and aircraft who made this a very special day for so many kids. And, of course, thanks to our Breakfast volunteers who made the morning so enjoyable for so many.
