Chapter Fly-Out – Sunday, June 5th

Hudson Valley – Chapter Fly-Out!

Join us this Sunday for a trip to Lincoln Park Airport N07, on the outskirts of NYC’s class B airspace. Between the Class B airspace and a couple of Class D airports, there will be plenty of airspace to keep track of. Make sure you bring with you a current copy of the New York TAC chat.
We’ll be having lunch at the Sunset Pub & Grill, in a nice outdoor setting with a great view of the runway. Good chance of having a live band as well.

On the way back, we’ll plan to take the scenic route through either the Hudson River SFRA (below 1300ft MSL) or the Skyline Route (between 1300 and 2000ft MSL). It is a great way to enjoy The Big Apple for you and your passengers.

Please register for the trip as a pilot/plane-owner or passenger here, mention Lincoln Flight and include your contact information.

NOTE: we’ll be monitoring weather and may switch to Saturday if needed. Be sure to supply your contact information so we can reach you!

If planning on flying over the Hudson, please familiarize yourselves with the requirements for the airspace. The FAA Safety Team has a course for navigating the SFRA (located here: https://www.faasafety.gov/gslac/ALC/course_content.aspx?pf=1&preview=true&cID=79) and they also offer a little kneeboard cheat sheet: (https://www.faasafety.gov/files/gslac/courses/content/79/775/kneeboard.pdf).

Additionally, it is highly recommended to have the SFRA: (http://www.docsteve.com/SchodackAviation/airspace_files/SFRA_VFR.pdf) and Skyline (http://www.docsteve.com/SchodackAviation/airspace_files/Skyline_VFR.pdf) charts available before departure.

As always, pilots should perform their own detailed self-briefings and flight planning.

Please plan on meeting at the hangar no later than 10:30 for Chapter briefing/seat assignments. Wheels up at 11:00.

We need planes, pilots and healthy appetites!

Thanks!
